The truth is, you don’t need more to be worthy of starting. You just need to give yourself the permission to be a beginner.

If content creation is a journey you’ve always wanted to walk on, but kept putting off, then this is where it all starts. This toolkit is like the spices you need for cooking.

  • Lighting

A good lighting changes the whole premise. You don’t need expensive lights, the natural light coming from your window works just fine. Just make sure you’re facing the light source.

And if you do invest in anything, let it be a small ring light. They’re more than enough to level up your video.

  • Audio

People will excuse a bad visual for a good, listenable audio.

Having clear audio will instantly make your content feel more professional, even if you are using just your phone. A wired earphone, a small clip on mic, or a room with no background noise can make a huge difference to your video.

A quick hack: Record your audio under a blanket or inside a closet to reduce background noise / echo.

  • Setup

Right now, we’re all chasing aesthetics; a white background, fairy lights, neutral tones. We’ve seen it all.

But here’s a secret: you don’t need a Pinterest-perfect studio. It can be anywhere in your house. A clean background, stable surface, and a fixed filming spot saves a lot of time and energy.

  • Settings

Use what you already have but make sure to use it properly. Clean your camera lens, check if the camera is focused, and turn on grid Lines to centre yourself.
