Introducing Veel Go Live: Live Commerce on Your Own Website

Introducing Veel Go Live

Veel Go Live is live commerce on your own website. You broadcast from your Veel dashboard, the show plays in a branded player on your store, and shoppers watch, chat, and buy without leaving the page. When the stream ends, it turns into a shoppable replay that keeps selling.

Most live shopping sends your customers off to someone else's app. Go Live keeps the show, the cart, and the replay on your site. Here's how it works, who can host, and what to run first.

What is Veel Go Live?

Veel Go Live is a live shopping tool that embeds a branded live video player on your own website. Viewers watch, chat with the host, browse featured products, and add to cart without leaving your store. You can simulcast to Facebook and YouTube, and the recording becomes an on-demand, shoppable replay.

Your website stays the home of the full shopping experience. Facebook and YouTube are a second door for your existing audience, nothing more. The host can be someone from your team, a creator you already work with, or a creator you find through Veel. When the broadcast ends, the featured products stay connected to the moments where they appeared.

How to run your first live shopping show

Take a Shopify home-goods store launching a cast-iron cookware set. The team wants to show how it handles a weeknight dinner, answer questions, and let people buy while they watch.

Set up the show in Veel. Pick the date and time, upload a thumbnail, add products, choose where the show appears, and apply your brand settings. On Shopify, products, prices, inventory, and variants come straight from your catalog, so the skillet a viewer sees is the skillet they can buy. With your account and storefront connected, setup takes under five minutes.

Pick a host who knows the product. Here, the head of product hosts. She can answer questions about weight, materials, and heat range without leaning off camera to ask someone.

Run the pre-show checks. Go Live walks her through camera, microphone, and connection checks first. A muted mic is easy to catch beforehand. With 200 people watching, it's not.

Go live and trigger products. The show appears on the store's site, and on Facebook and YouTube if you selected them. Customers see the player next to live chat. The team scheduled the skillet for minute five and the Dutch oven for minute twenty, but they can also push a product card manually when the conversation lands there. A viewer opens the skillet card, picks a size, adds it to the cart, and keeps watching. The video doesn't move.

Hand the chat to someone else. A teammate runs chat so the person on camera doesn't have to run the room too. Hosts, assigned moderators, and authorized business users can all manage chat controls.

Let the replay take over. When the broadcast ends, the recording processes automatically and becomes a permanent replay with product cards still attached to the right moments. Three weeks later, a customer can jump to the skillet, open it, and buy.

Choose the right host for your live shopping show

Your own team

Launches, product demos, behind-the-scenes sessions, and customer Q&As work best with someone who knows the product cold. You manage products, broadcast, and chat from the same place.

A creator you already work with

Invite a creator you already partner with to a scheduled show. They bring their personality, expertise, and reach. The show still runs on your website, in your branded player, with your products, so their audience lands on your store and your existing customers stay put. Unsure which creator can carry a live hour? Veel's free Creator Analysis tool can help you size one up first.

A creator you haven't met yet

Create a Go Live campaign in Veel. Describe the product, timing, niche, target audience, and compensation, and Veel matches you with relevant, verified creators. They host from web or mobile, talk with viewers in real time, and get paid through the Veel workflow.

New to briefing creators? Start with our guides to finding UGC creators who fit your brand and managing creator video campaigns. Creator Campaigns shows how campaigns work in Veel, and you can request a creator campaign plan if you'd like help scoping one.

What can you run with Go Live?

  • Product drops. Reveal something new, answer questions as they come in, and give viewers a direct path to buy. People who join live get the first look. Everyone else gets the replay.
  • Product demos. Skincare routines, kitchen tools, gadgets, and fitness gear are hard to understand from a photo. Seeing them in use does the work. Beauty brand? Here's why UGC matters for beauty and skincare.
  • Creator takeovers. Hand the show to a creator for an hour with the products and context, and let them run it in their own style. If you also work with creators on commission, the Veel Affiliate Program is worth a look.
  • Expert sessions. Put a founder, stylist, nutritionist, or engineer on camera and answer the questions that never make it into a product description. Live handles objections in real time. The replay keeps the conversation working.
  • Seasonal events. Gift guides, holiday shopping events, limited drops, and seasonal tutorials all suit a live format, and the replay outlasts the event.
  • Community events. Not every show has to sell. Product selection is optional, so use Go Live for announcements, tutorials, or a plain Q&A.

Where to put your live shopping show

On Shopify, add Go Live to your theme with an app block and connect your catalog. On other platforms, use the custom embed on a homepage, product page, collection, landing page, or campaign microsite.

Match the placement to the purpose. A single-product demo can live on that product's page. A holiday event can take over the homepage. A creator-led campaign can get its own landing page. Set the show up once in Veel and manage it from one place. Setup details are on the Go Live page.

Reuse your live shopping replays

A live show takes real work: briefing the host, preparing products, promoting the event, getting people to show up at the same time. Replays make that work keep paying off.

Put them in an on-site library where customers can see what's live now, what's coming next, and what has already aired. Share them, embed them, or let customers find them on their own. Because the product cards stay attached to the video, a replay from three weeks ago is still shoppable. Already collecting customer video? Pair replays with UGC video reviews so shoppers get the show and the proof in one place.

How to measure live shopping results

Go Live tracks viewer activity, watch time, chat engagement, product impressions and clicks, attributed orders, replay performance, and on-site discovery activity.

Read the numbers together. Watch time and chat engagement show whether people stayed interested. Product clicks and orders show whether that attention turned into shopping. High engagement with low product activity may point to your product selection or when you introduced products. Low engagement and low sales may mean the format or promotion needs another look.

Start with one simple show

One product, one host, 30 minutes. Tell your email list and social followers when you're going live. Decide which products appear and when, and test the product cards before the show.

Ask your team for the ten questions customers ask most and make sure the host has them ready. Put one person on chat. When the show ends, send the replay to everyone who missed it. Need ideas for the announcement posts? Veel's free Content Idea Generator and Sis, the AI social media manager can help.

Then use what you learn to make the next one better.

Go Live FAQ

Can I run live shopping on my own website instead of a marketplace?
Yes. Go Live plays in a branded Veel player on your site, so viewers watch, chat, and buy without leaving your store.

Does Go Live work with Shopify?
Yes. On Shopify, add Go Live to your theme with an app block and connect your catalog, so products, prices, inventory, and variants stay in sync. On other platforms, use the custom embed.

Can I stream to Facebook and YouTube at the same time?
Yes. You can simulcast to both, but your website stays the home of the full shopping experience.

What happens after the live show ends?
The recording processes automatically and becomes a permanent on-demand replay, with product cards still attached to the moments where products appeared.

Who can host a Go Live show?
Someone from your team, a creator you already work with, or a verified creator matched to you through a Go Live campaign in Veel.

Does every show need to feature products?
No. Product selection is optional, so you can run announcements, tutorials, or Q&As without a shopping layer.

Veel Go Live brings the reach of live video together with the commerce of your own storefront. Host on your site. Bring in creators. Sell while you stream. Keep selling after.
